Hallway Hero
A classroom hall-pass system with a teacher dashboard, an iPad kiosk, destination queues, and a live view of who's out.

What it is
Hallway Hero handles the small but constant business of leaving the classroom. Students use a paired kiosk to choose a destination and start or finish a pass. The teacher gets a live dashboard showing who is out, who is waiting, and which requests need a decision.
There is also a separate read-only student viewer. Teacher controls, kiosk actions, and the shared view each have their own role.
How it fits the room
Destinations have capacity limits and waiting lines. When a place opens, a ready reservation gives the next student a turn. Allowances, schedules, and teacher approvals support different classroom routines without putting every decision on the kiosk.
Roster import, individual PIN cards, history, and printable reports cover the setup and follow-up around the daily flow.
What mattered
A hall-pass app has to keep track of real transitions: waiting is different from leaving, and a request is different from an approved departure. Those distinctions carry through the teacher dashboard and kiosk.
Returns also need a path when the connection drops. The kiosk can record an offline return observation for reconciliation, while the teacher retains control over the official record.
Where it stands
Hallway Hero is deployed and being prepared for classroom use. Real iPad and school-network checks remain part of that rollout. The screenshot here uses fictional records from a local preview of the teacher dashboard.
